Chester Ernest Sims of Ravia stepped in to eternity to join his Heavenly Father along with many other friends and loved ones on Wednesday morning October 26, 2016 at his home in Ravia at the age of 98 ¾ years as Chester would say it.

Chester was born on February 23, 1918 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma to the late Grady & Ruby Sims. Chester was raised in the southern Oklahoma area. Chester attended Lindsay Public Schools and then later went on to work in the oil field. He worked for Halliburton Oil for many years before moving to the Johnston County area to farm and ranch, where he lived the remainder of his life.

Chester Sims was a one of a kind guy. If you knew him, you had to love him. Chester had a great sense of humor, always joking and making people smile.  Chester was very active in the Ravia Senior Citizens Program where he enjoyed going to eat lunch and play dominoes with his buddies.

Most importantly Chester made the best decision of his life in September 2011 when he accepted Jesus as his Savior. He was later baptized and became a member of the Ravia Baptist Church. Chester was a blessing to so many people and will be greatly missed.
