Dalton Odell Hook of Ravia stepped into eternity with his Savior on Tuesday evening at the Texoma Medical Center in Denison, TX at the age of 79 years, 3 months, and 25 days. Dalton was born on March 31, 1937 in Elmore City, OK to the late Hiram Leslie Hook and Ollie Mae (Davis) Hook.

Following high school, Dalton enlisted in the United States Army and served two tours. He was honorably discharged from his first tour on January 20, 1961 and then on June 30, 1966 he received his second honorable discharge.

Dalton later went on to marry the love of his life whom he loved and cared for deeply, Linda Faye (Sides) Hook. The two of them were married on January 04, 1979 in Denison, TX. That day was very memorable day not just to Dalton & Linda but to much of the other family as well. The two were originally going to get married that day in Dallas but the roads were icy and by the time they got to Denison they had to stop because of the travel conditions. So they “tied the knot” that day in Denison. That knot held tight for the reminder of their marriage.

Dalton worked as a truck operator at Martin Marietta and TXI rock quarries north of Ravia, which he helped build. Dalton worked for the county for a short period of time and he also poured cement.

Dalton was of the Baptist faith and was very faithful member of the Ravia Baptist Church in Ravia.

Some of Dalton’s favorite hobbies included fishing, coon hunting, camping, bowling,  playing horseshoes and dominoes. Most importantly Dalton loved his kids, grandkids and his beloved wife Linda.
