Glenn James Vaughn was born August 9, 1933,in Denton, Texas to Arthur and Minnie (Pryor) Vaughn and passed away on Sunday, November 1, 2015 in Longview, TX at the age of 82 years 2 months and 22 days.
Glenn attended Denton High School, where he marched and played the bass drum. Glenn served in the United States Army during the Korean War and then served as a police officer in Saginaw, TX.
He attended Radio and Television Technology School in Ft. Worth, and then worked at repairing television sets. Glenn later worked for movie theaters for 33 years serving in the capacity as a projectionist, manager, and owner. He spent his later years delivering travel trailers for Fleetwood all over the U.S.A.
During 1999 to 2006 Glenn and Matha made their home in Tishomingo, Ravia, and Bennington areas. He rewired the churches in Ravia and Bennington and he ran the sound system at the Ravia Baptist Church when he attended there. He also helped his brother-n-law Tom Hinchey cut and clean cemeteries in Troy, Coleman, Ravia, Condon Grove, and Bold Springs.
Glenn married Matha Hinchey on April 1, 1962, not even thinking about that date being April Fool’s Day. Glenn and Matha were married for 53 years and renewed their vows on their 50thAnniversary.
Glenn and Matha’s marriage was blessed with eight children, twenty-nine grandchildren and twenty-five great grandchildren.
Left to treasure his memory is his wife, Matha of the home; Sons, Steven Vaughn and wife Debbie, Paul Vaughn and wife Melissa, Michael Shaw, David Vaughn and wife Cindi; Daughters, Becky Hendrix, Krystal Kesler and husband Willie.
Glenn was proceeded in death by sons, Tim Shaw and John Vaughn; a son-in-law, John Hendrix; and his parents.
