Zella Jo (Vandeventer) Wright of Milburn passed away on Friday May 15, 2015 at the Blue River Healthcare Nursing Home in Tishomingo at the age of 94 years, 3 months, and 23 days. Zella was born on January 22, 1921 in Fort Washita, Oklahoma to the late Andrew Vandeventer and Flora Ella (Burchett) Vandeventer.

Zella was a lifelong resident of Johnston County and attended school at Nida and later graduated from Tishomingo High School. She attended college for two years and married Glen Wright in 1939 in Johnston County. He preceded her in death in 1983.

Zella worked as a homemaker, farmer and a rancher. In 1986 Zella went to work for the Chickasaw Head start where she worked for several years. Zella truly enjoyed working with children. Zella also enjoyed shopping, she loved cats and to take care of her kittens. Zella loved dancing with her husband at country dances.

Funeral services will be held on Monday May 18 in Tishomingo Funeral Home Chapel at 10:30am

With Rev. Roger Rundsville officiating, assisted by Larry Stillwell

Visitation will be from 1pm until 4pm Sunday afternoon.

 

Serving pallbearers for the service will be:

Stanley Parks of Tishomingo; Gerald Parks of Calera; Allen Vandeventer of Ringling; Larry Stillwell of Shawnee and Taylor Parks of Tishomingo.

 

Memorial donations may be made to the First Assembly of God Church in Tishomingo In Memory of Zella.
