Funeral services for Rose Lee (Margie) Wellman, 83, of Shallowater, TX, will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 11th, 2018 in Lubbock at Lone Star Cowboy Church. Interment will be at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 12th, 2018 at the Norton Family Cemetery in Oklahoma under the direction of Sanders Funeral Home in Lubbock, TX assisted by Tishomingo Funeral Home.



The family will receive friends at Sanders Funeral Home on Monday, December 10th, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.



Rosa Lee (Margie) Wellman passed away earlier Thursday morning in the comfort of her home. She was born on July 19th, 1935 in Ravia, Oklahoma to Lena and Arthur Norton. Margie married the love of her life on December 22nd, 1952 in Ardmore, Oklahoma. Margie had a passion and zest for life like no other. Her desire to fulfill her days and nights and stay active was a goal she made and met daily. She had an enormous love for her Western Swing Dance family. But as we all know her primary goals were to be with and always enjoy her time with her family. Margie enjoyed lending a helping hand whether it was taking them to the doctor or to play the keyboard at the Western Swing Dances.



Survivors include her son Jackie Wellman and wife, Debbie of Quitaque, TX, daughter Terry Smith and husband Stanley, and son Kenneth Wellman and wife Kathy, all of Wichita Falls, TX; six grandchildren Christopher Scott, Bridget Robertson, Jamie Randall, Richard Wellman, Ryan Wellman, Jessica Wellman; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild on the way; a brother Butch Norton of Wichita Falls, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years Llyod Wellman, her parents Lena and Arthur Norton and her brother Sprakie.
