Linda Thompson Current Services

Linda Kay (Byrd) Thompson passed away peacefully Saturday, May 13th, 2023 at her home in Enos.  She was born January 12, 1952 in Chickasha, Ok to John Byrd Sr. and Lillian Ann Julia (Cheadle) Byrd.

When Linda was a child, she moved to Andrews, Tx with her family.  They remained there until her father's passing and then moved to Arkansas City, Ks.  She later moved back to Andrews and eventually made her home in Marshall County.

On July 2, 1970, she married Chuck Thompson.  This union lasted until Chuck's death in 2018.  Three children were born from this union:   Milicent, Sephina, and Brandi.

Linda was proud of her Chickasaw Heritage.  She loved learning her native language and was always teaching her children and grandchildren different words.  She enjoyed reading history books on the Chickasaws and learning about her Native American culture.  Linda also spent time doing embroidery and beading.

She had a great sense of humor and was always giving her daughter, Milicent and her significant other, Don a hard time.  Linda's children always referred to Don as "Mr. Don."  According to them, she was always in a hurry to get home to Mr. Don.

Linda was preceded in death by both parents; husband, Chuck; daughters, Sephina Thompson and Brandi Smith; and a brother, Jimmy Byrd.

She is survived by her significant other, Don Fergueson of Kingston; daughter, Milicent Snyder (Bradley) of Milburn, Ok; brothers, Jack Byrd of Salina, Ok and Joe Byrd of Ada, Ok; grandchildren, Ashton Ferrari (Dominic) of Clarksville, Tn, Reagan Snyder of Milburn, Mason Snyder of Milburn, Jordan Snyder of Milburn, and three great-grandchildren.  Linda also leaves behind her precious little dogs, Cocoa and Sunshine.
